Open house tours for all prospective residents begin. Tours will take place Monday-Friday from 2pm-5pm until all units are leased.
October 1st
Availability and pricing for 2025-26 lease term posted on website.
October 3rd
Current residents get first priority to transfer units for the 2025-26 term.

Applications for 4-bedroom and 5-bedroom units open at 10:00am.
October 9th
Applications for 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units open at 10:00am.

Applications for Studios and 1-bedroom units open at 10:00am.

I live at Grand Central this year, and previously lived at X01. Both of the apartments and LZ Management overall are nothing but the best. The maintenance is quick with every request, the management team is always in office and is willing to help with anything and everything. The amenities are amazing too!! They have great activities for their tenants from ice cream trucks to dogs during every finals week! I have never lived in a place in Madison that feels more like home. 10/10 recommend to everyone looking for an amazing home in Madison:)

Grand Central was my first apartment and I absolutely love it! I stayed up till the summer after I graduated! The management and maintenence at Grand Central is outstanding! Everyone is super friendly and helpful especially if its your first time moving out! They host fun events (with free food) throughout the year and they have great security so I always felt very safe. They also have tons of awesome amenities and its a great central location in Madison!
Frequently Asked Questions
- Applications for the 2025-26 lease term will be accessible via our website the week of October 7th. Once your application is submitted, your listed co-signer will receive an email with a link to complete their portion of the online application. If you will be applying with roommates, your applications are not considered completed until all application materials have been received from all roommates and all co-signers. At that point, your group will be placed in the queue to be processed for approval and assigned a unit. Application processing can take up to 48-72 hours.
- The lease agreements are joint and severally liable – we do not offer individual leases. All leaseholders share the same responsibility and liability to the lease agreements. All tenants are required to have a co-signer.
- Our leases are a standard 12-month lease. We do not offer short-term leases, but we do find that many of our tenants take advantage of the subleasing option in the summertime or for studying abroad.
- A co-signer is typically a parent or close relative who meets the rental requirements and is willing to guarantee the financial obligations of the lease. Co-signers do not need to live in the United States.
- We do not charge an application fee. There is no down payment or earnest money due. However, once the lease is signed by all tenants and co-signers, the security deposit is due within 10 days of signature.
- Given that our leases are joint rather than individual, we do not assign roommates or match roommates. It is the responsibility of our tenants to find the roommates they would like to live with during the lease terms.
- Yes! The application is the same. You will be able to select your top 5 units at either building. There is also a box you can check to indicate you would like to be assigned a unit of a similar floor plan/unit type should your top 5 choices be leased by the time your application is processed. If you would like to be considered at both buildings, please ensure there is at least 1 unit from Grand Central and 1 unit from X01 listed in your 5 unit choices and that the box is checked.
- 1) Make sure you spell your roommate names accurately to ensure you are grouped correctly. You should use the same first and last name they use when filling out their own applications. 2) Double-check to make sure your roommate group has the same ranked order of desired units. 3) Communicate the application process with your co-signer and confirm their preferred email address to use on your application.
